Production Schedule

Filming Dates

Deadline: Thursday 15 December

This chart shows our schedule on the different filming dates we have planned on. The dates vary as they are each aimed at weekends rather than week days due to the time it would take to get to places and to film without having to rush. We may plan to use extra days to get through enough shots for our short film.

Film Festival Postcard Drafts

These postcard drafts are examples of what we plan our original idea to be like. Each one of the group members including myself have drawn an example of what we thought would be eye catching towards our audience and what would make them want to watch our short film. Of course we have made it so that it is relevant to our film basing it on the country we are filming in and the subjects we are focusing on. E.g. cars and the streets, especially the traffic lights etc.

Website Homepage Drafts

Above is a digital template of the image shown on the right which has been hand drawn by my fellow team mate Jack Murphy. This template shows a prime example of how we have planned to present our website for our documentary short film.
This image on the left shows a template of the 'About' page which gives detail on who we are, what the show film is based on and which member did what.

The image shown on the right is the final clickable link page 'contact'. This page gives each members details incase of any inquiries. There is also the link to our short film linked on it, as well as the press kit link. Below everything we will add the links to our social media pages.

Social Media Research

Our groups target audience consists of people aged 19-50. With this it is easy to assume that the large majority of them are to use social media especially with the fact that there are billions of people active this current year. Although there are fake accounts active as well, their numbers tend to be rising allowing the overall number to be affected by this.

Due to a couple of social media websites being popular, like Facebook, Snapchat, Youtube, Instagram and twitter, we have greater chance of getting viewers such as stunt drivers. With these people using the mentioned applications, they can either post their own videos or images and get more viewers from the rest of their community. Therefore, if our group do the same, it can give us a chance to get the same amount of viewers or even have a brief idea of what they think by them commenting their thoughts or even what they think of our information being given out about how driving in such ways may be deadly to these individuals.

We are hoping to use social media as a way to spread our message to the public and mostly the younger age range to stop them from risking their lives even though they think its all fun and games. By using actual stunt drivers we were hoping that the audience will understand what they have been through and would take driving safely a lot more seriously and prevent any fatal accidents in the future.

Film Festival Research

Film Festivals are usually organised, extended version of films in a number of screening venues. All these screenings are mostly based in one city or region. The films being shown are ones of recent dates or include international and domestic releases. Various Film Festivals focus on specific Film-Makers or even Genre or even a Subject Matter. A number of Film Festivals specialise in short films of an exact maximum length. These Film Festivals usually occur annually rather than regularly.

The best Film Festivals as shown above are the Cannes, Tribeca and Sundance Film Festivals. Although, the best knows Film Festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the Latter being the largest Film Festival worldwide, based on attendance. Also, the Venice Film Festival is the oldest major Festival.

Location Planning

The locations shown below are the ones we had picked to film in and use for our short film documentary. At these current locations we are going to get shots of cars drifting, or doing any sorts of stunts possible. We will make sure to get great quality shots, to provide our future viewers with various pans, tilts and every vantage points to make it appealing to our target audience.

With these images we know where and how to start our filming process with the different example shots given to us. We will manage to get various shots that we will decide on using as our introduction shot, then we will plan on getting different shots of moving cars which we will plan on using with all the stats we will collect.

We had picked sealine as or major focus as it is known as Dohas graveyard for young drivers due to their reckless driving on the dunes. Whether they are on dune buggies or in cars, they will always have their ways on showing off to other drivers around the area.

As for Lusail, DUI drivers of all ages come together at specific times in order to race or drift in their mustang shelby's, or to do various stunts using their 4 Wheel drives which are shown in the images. The stunts are possible with the help of the balloon tyres used on these type of cars.
